Things I love these days in spite of the challenges that are coming my way...
*OT drinking fest... how we pulled through with it is a secret I am keeping.;)
*Weekends with the attorney-boyfriend.
-spent my weekend with him and it was just AWESOME~
*Planning for the great birthday lunch for my Daddy this Sunday.
-Just because they try to LIKE my dishes even if they always feel it is just an experiment.
Nothing can rain on my parade, not even the challenges that may present on my path.
I AM HAPPY!:)

Post-Holidays Blues
Been caught by the post-holidays blues lately.
If you have been reading my blogs, you will notice that I am my usual positive self. Well, it is normal to sometimes get caught by the blues bug and lately it is what I am feeling. I guess it is a mixed of all emotions rolled into one that I have not noticed in the past few months.
I lost a great lady in my life. My Lola Lagring. She has stood to be my second mother since my mom got sick. She is one of my pillars of strenght and losing her is one thing I dread the most.
For one, the holidays are never the same. Yes we toured three countries in Southeast Asia and I should be thankful for it, which I am. But when you come back to reality then it starts hitting you up pretty fast. I know grief is something I am at constant struggle at and I guess it is the major reason why I am writting now a very personal blog about how I feel.
Add to that the fact that I no longer feel good working at my current job. I feel that I am at a point of nowhere already. I have already exhausted all that I can from this organization and I am getting ansty about my career. For this I decided to finally push through on seeking greener pastures. This year will be the year for a great career move one that I have been praying will finally propell the kind of career I am aiming at.
Getting bitten by the blues bug drains me out. I think too much, I am restless and I cannot focus. But of course like all things I have already learned from, I know that there is no way but to stay positive no matter what.
For this I would take one of my armors in battling the blues bug, a bottle of PUSSY RED colored nail polish. It perks me up and keeps me positive.
I'll swipe some on my nails this weekend like a warrior swipe some face paint before the war.

Being Alive
Happy New Year to all who will come across this blog of mine!:)
The year 2010 has been a bittersweet year for me. I have lost a great lady in my life, my Lola, but than again I have received a lot of blessings from the Lord above. My relationship with my family is improving in many ways. Small little ways that matters a lot. My boyfriend and I are taking our relationship to the next level and as much as I want to switch jobs right now, the Lord gave me a different career growth in the form of taking up a master's degree.
In many ways, the year 2010 was a good year like the rest of the years since I adapted a more positive outlook in life. But I felt that this year I have just been breezing in automatic pilot, like I have not been living enough to feel everything. Maybe it is because I am in the state of grief or maybe because I just got used to all the routine of life. I have never felt like, for lack of a better term, a zombie in a while. And this year that will about to change.
I have one ultimate goal for this year and I will be shooting at the starts for it no matter what. When an opportunity comes my way I will go ahead and grab it without any hesitation unlike before. I will take joy in the "mini vacations" that life will present me. I will indulge in my new hobby, one that I have hoped for in years. I will revel in my one big solo travel in June. I will read more books and lessen my time on the internet. I will work harder and party harder and I will open up my senses, my mind and my heart to absorb everything that will make me feel alive.
I will live for this year. The year 2011 will be my year of living!
And I am starting right now.

Memories
My "morning ritual" are reserved for my daily exercises in keeping my sanity check. In that period and space, my mind wanders to thoughts that remind me of things. I either think of how my day will go about, what is happening in my life and the part I like the most, memories that comes by.
I was blessed or probably for some, cursed with a very good recollection. It is as if my mind is like a databank wherein piles and piles and piles of information is stored. My earliest recollection dates back to the time that I was almost three years old. With those memories comes the good and the bad as well.
But memories are something that keeps everyone of us feel alive. It may be triggered by a sight or sound or smell in our surrounding. My favorite memory triggers are those that takes me back to that specific experience and feeling as if I am going through it again, sight, sound and smell of everything that left a permanent mark in me.
Those good memories are what keep me going on. When it rains and I smell that faint musky scent it leaves, I am reminded of my curiosity as a child in finding elfs underneath the mushroom plants that suddenly appeared in our lawn. When I hear and see some thunder and lightning, I am reminded of the time that I considered my father an intellect in explaning to me that God is just bowling with his friends in heaven. When I hear Mang Eric call out for taho in our street, I am reminded of the endless summer days of my childhood playing on the streets with my friends. Malate and all the sensory experience it offers reminds me of my angst ridden young adult life and a bowl of piping hot sinigang na bangus sa bayabas would always remind me of my Lola.
Always.
If you may ask, how about the bad memories I have. I decided to put them in a box, sealed them tightly and put at the farthest end of the cupboard, so not even I can ever reach it. I have come to realize that bad memories can be locked away forever if you want too. It is though but very doable.
After all, who needs a bad memory when we can always make beautiful new ones everyday.

Prince Charming
Blame it on those fairy tales we are "forced" to read during our younger years, every girl in this world is dreaming of finding their prince charming. One who will sweep them off their feet on a horse and hie them away in some castle to be princesses. Even if that girl seems to be unconventional, somewhere deep inside of them, the concept of the "prince charming" lurks. Every girl will spend half or their entire lifetime searching or waiting for their prince charming to come.
But how does one exactly know a prince charming when they see one in this modern times? All those fairy tale stories starts off with a miserable girl who is saved by a handsome prince on a horse, with perfectly flowing hair and godly-like features. The prince charming is always portrayed as someone who is handsome, brave and gallant among all the men in the kingdom. He is truly exceptional.
In this modern times though, it is very hard to find a prince amidst all the changes that had happened in our society. Women no longer feel helpless all the time, in fact, women has now rose to the ranks of men in terms of power play and money. Most of us might not be looking for our prince charmings anymore since we can easily fend for ourselves. Nonetheless, this notion of a prince charming has caused many hearts to break and become frustrated. After all, each woman dreams of becoming somebody's princess someday.
It does not mean though that the concept of the prince charming has rather become obsolete. That it has been left in Medieval ages where it belongs. I would like to think that this concept had somewhat evolved. Although some traits should have not changed (GUYS: Chivalry is very much IN for us modern princesses), those that did are very much appreciated. It is not common nowadays for women to subject under the sole will of men. My take is a modern prince should be one that is still handsome (we all would LOVE that), brave and gallant, but add to that he must have respect and trust for his princess as well as a common view that love must be equal at all times and at all aspects.
The prince charming still exist in modern times. They may be rare but they are amongst us. We must be discerning though in looking for one.
Even if it means we have to kiss a thousand frogs before we find one.;)

Intuition
Ever had that nagging feeling about something you so try to ignore but it just us there? You cannot explain it and your certainly do not know where it is coming from but you recognize what it is. That is what you call intuition.
Intuition is a usual tool that many of us ignores. Too often, we ignore our gut feel knowing in the end that there is some truth to it. I have not read of any scientific explanation about intuitions. I probably have not come across any. But I do believe it is helpful.
Just this year I formed this habit of always telling myself that something good is about to happen. It pays to stay positive about things for it makes us move forward to reaching our goals. I do feel that there is something good that is going to happen. It is that gut feel that makes me do things and in the end I am able to acheive what I have set myself to do. It is also that intution that tells me when to give up on something that is not working anymore.
Intuitions are good.
Together with a positive mind. :)

Start of Something New
I bet the first thing that came in your mind was Highschool Musical hehehe!:) But lately it is what my life is slowly being defined. There is something new starting and it will take shape in the coming months ahead.
I am looking forward to it. I have in fact made a separate blog for it. It is exciting.
I guess in the past year I was blessed with a lot of things. Even the challenged in graduate school is a blessing for me. Being given a second chance in completing a higher degree is something I would keep positive about no matter what kind of trial it may present. I have learned from my past. Negativity harbors nothing but ill-fate.
Second semester is about to begin. I am yet once again facing challenges and road blocks at the start of my journey but I am keeping faith I will finish this. I am going to take one step at a time for everything. Life was never easy in the first place.
I always felt good things are bound to happen. Even if I am fearful and in doubt of what I do not know and what the future will hold, I am keeping positive of the good things that will unfold. There is no other way.
A positive heart keeps your engines running and your heart burning.

Day 30: In Three's
It is the end folks.
I cannot say I was successful because I kept on bunching up days but I tried.:) It was fun doing the 30-day blog challenge.
Now what happened to me in the past 30 days.
Something big in my personal life happened in a good way and I cannot wait for 2012 to come.
I survived the first semester of grad school amidst probably repeating my math but nonetheless moving forward.:) I am being positive.:)
And just being happy in general.
It will be a challenging time ahead but I do not mind. I have a more positive perspective that the set back in grad school would only make me move forward to finishing it. Set backs are good.:) I have faith and I know I can.
Being positive rocks!

Day 29: Writing Is My Solitude (Something You Would Not Get Tired Of Doing)
Writing is the sole reason why I started this blog.
Writing is my solitude amidst all the craziness life is throwing at my foot steps. I am a very transparent person and very opinionated at that. I express myself in anyway I can and writing is something that helps me express thoughts I cannot speak of. I have a very private journal and this one. Even if I grow old and wrinkly, I would not forego of writing.
Now that I am on my way of hopefully starting a family of my own, I wish for this solitude of mine to help me earn for my future family. So I may have more time with my kids. Eventually it may become one.
I would love to earn from a hobby. :)

Day 27&28: Me and Gilbert Grape (Photo of me Last Year and Favorite Movie)
| Am I drunk??? A bit... hahaha! |
How did I change since then? Well nothing much, I am still the crazy, loud and funny girl except now I am slaving over graduate school. How I wish I had switched jobs this year, a goal I have set myself. But I know God has His own plans for everyone, including me, so I will patiently wait for His plans to take action. Job-hunting will be for next year. I noticed though that I am more laidback again especially with school. As long as I do my best, even if my best is not good enough, I know it will be fruitful in the end. I just need to get the best I can out of what life throws at me. I have become more strong this year I guess.
For my favorite movie, What's Eating Gilbert Grape? is what defines me. You have to know me and watch the movie to know why.:)
Johnny Depp in it is a bonus actually.;)

Day 26: Dream Come True (A Photo of Somewhere You Have Been Too)

| Church of the Angry Christ |
Last June my attorney/bf and I went to Bacolod. If there is one place in this country that I would really love to visit, Bacolod had my heart. From the time I saw this in a Lonely Planet episode on the Discovery Channel, I have been possesed with the thought of actually seeing it in person. And yes I did.
The mural of the Angry Christ for me symbolizes that the Lord is just human afterall. That He can be angry. That He is real. My discovery of this mural came at the time I was questioning my faith and my religion. I have strengthen my faith with the Lord now. Religion-wise, I pray wherever and whenever.
I love to go back and see the mural again. Will probably bring my kids here too.
Bacolod is my happy place!:)

Day 22: It's For The Best (Letter to Someone Who Have Hurt You Recently)
*I really do not have a person who had hurt me recently. I probably came to a point that I only knew who are the people I am giving the privilege to hurt me. When I say it like this, what I meant was only a few people matters to me that has the capability of both loving me and hurting me. This letter is dedicated to someone whom I lost a friendship with. I rather focus on the good things that happened.
Dear You,
I think what happened to us was for the best.
The friendship that we share was not meant to last I guess. I know we had hurt each other and you probably think I gave up on the friendship. The thing is, you never really admited to yourself that maybe you contributed to it too. You do not look at yourself and the contribution you made why this is happening. I am sorry if I cannot be your mom who would always understand you and tell you that you did nothing wrong when in fact you have. It always takes two to tango in a relationship. And we are dancing on a different tune I guess. I would love to fix our friendship but I know your heart is not willing. The problem with me is I cannot stick to what you always want.
But at the end of the day, no matter how much we had hurt each other, I hope you find it in your heart to relieve the good times we had as friends. We had a few wonderful memories we shared. Soon enough I will be marrying the man you helped me figure out was the best for me. I would love for you to be my maid-of-honor but I guess it is not meant to be.
Good bye my former friend. I know the hurt will subside in time. I wish all the luck in this world and I always have our memories in me.
Regards,
Me

Day 21: He Makes Me Happy ( A Photo Of Something That Makes You Happy)
![]() |
| He makes my heart flutter <3 |
He makes me happy.
He has been making me happy for the past 60 fullmoons we have been together and I have this gut feel he will still in the next fullmoons to come.
It is our fifth anniversary today, perfect for the theme of this 30-day blog challenge. We have come a long way from the five years we have been together. We never had a fight that broke us down. It is really true when they said that when you put God in the center of your lives as a couple, He manages to help you both make things work. I am thankful that my years of waiting had paid off and his too. We are each others first real relationship.
From him, I have learned the true essence of love. It is not the butterflies in your stomach that matters, not the material things you give each other, not the effort of putting your best foot forward that makes it real. No, not that. Love is really about working at making things right even if it is hard. Love is to really accept the person whom you entrust your heart with, warts and then some. Love is anticipating that the person would change and you will be there to help him change for the best. Love is just silently sitting side by side and holding each other or in our case, laughing like there is no tommorow even if there is nothing funny to laugh about.
This is the beginning of having that chance to spend our lifetimes together. We are getting into it and we are dedicating everything to God.
Happy 60 fullmoons of togetherness my love!:)
If you get caught again by surprise with this, one it is not my intention. I like making you smile for no apparent reason at all. :)

Day 19 & 20: Sunshiny Self/Because I Love It... Enough Said (Another Photo of Myself and Reason Behind My Blog Name)

My friends know I am crazy and LOUD hahaha!!! People in the office tells me that when I am out the office feels different, do not know though if it was a good thing or a bad thing. But I am always at my bubbly self. That does not mean I never had my issues. In fact, part of my late teens and early adult life was angst ridden. Want an example of an EMO some 8 years ago??? That's me hahaha! Of course my generation would not call it EMO. I think way back then we call is ANGST. I have a notebook full of angst ridden poetry about lost love that I keep. It reminds me of my old cranky self. :P
But of course you have to grow up. In my opinion, you do not choose not to grow up. Growing up is a much harder decision to make. Then again sometimes it is the world who will tell you so. I am glad I am back to my perky self.
About my blog name, I only have one reason for it. I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!!!
'Nuff said. ;)
**Apologies again for yet compiling two days in one. I am feeling under the weather lately.

Day 17 and 18: Family Love and Stick O!!! (Photo of Your Family and Something You Crave A Lot)
Apologies for not doing Day 17 on the 17th. I need a picture and I do not have a copy on my laptop hehehe!
I love my family too bits and I can never imagine going through life without them. We are only four in our immediate family and it always came as a surprise to others how my brother and I are so close. I guess that's the way things are supposed to be. :)
Now for something I crave a lot, I present to you... STICK-O!!!
I was never into it when it came out in my early teen years but damn it is the one thing I wanted to eat during weekends or when I am PMSing now that I am in my late 20's. Our househelps know that when I call and ask them to buy me something from our neighboorhood sari-sari store it will be Stick-O. Proof of that was this one time I never asked Ate Marita to buy me some and yet she asked me: "Ano papabile ka ba Stick-O?" The mere fact that I heard it made me think.
Guess what happened next?:P

Day 16: JOHNNY DEPP FOREVAH! (Celebrity Crush)
I have a penchant for celebrities whose name starts with the letter J. I have a crush on Jomari Yllana in high school. In fact, my little brother knew about it and gave me a poster of him in a fetal position, in all his naked glory. But of course things changes, he gained weight and became a bit obnoxious now.
In the local scene, John Llyod Cruz have captured my heart ever since his G-Mik days. Not a few people knew about him back when his hair is curly and long, most especially his Koolits and Tabing Ilog days, but my love for him goes back even then. I always picture in my mind that one day we will cross paths and I can finally smell him hahaha! He looks "mabango" on TV.
But my heart will forever belong to JOHNNY DEPP! Yes, I like my man weird. He has that artsy attitude that I so adore. Proof of it was that in my early adult years, my men are like him, weird. Of course eventually you grow and you get a man who is responsible. Not that I am saying he is not.;)
In my heart, I will FOREVAH be your number 1 fan Johnny Depp. FOREVAH!!!

Day 15: My Gurdian Angel (Something I Do Not Leave The House Without)
I was born on a Monday.
And like all Filipino children born to Catholics parents, I grew up knowing what a guardian angel is. It was in law school that I found out angel Gabriel was may patron. A former dor mate gave me a small figurine of Angel Gabriel and I never leave the house without it. It has brought me protection and luck when most needed.
Tommorow I will be bringing it to my finals. I hope he guides me through it. :)

Day 14: Modern Family and The Good Wife (TV Programs You Are Currently Addicted To)
I am only addicted to one channel. That is NICKOLODEON. Yes, I am twenteen-seven and I still watch cartoons. It is actually my sleeping pill. I cannot sleep without watching an episode of Fairly Odd Parents, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Real Monsters, etc. Cartoons need not occupy much of your brain space. Last thing I really want at the day's end is some TV junk and not some depressing news or run-off-the-mill drama.
But these past few weeks I have been wanting to catch the episodes of Modern Family and The Good Wife. The Good Wife I catched while I was channel surfing. It surprised me and I need to buy myself some new DVD player so I can watch it on DVD. Modern Family tickles my funny bone because Al of Married with Children is in it. Who does not love Al???!!!
Problem is, I think both occupies the same time slot and the same day. I have not gotten around googling its schedule for re-runs but I will get to it once semestral break starts.
Right now I need to get some "Ilumina" and "Grazilda" fix. Yeah I am Kapuso. :)
