Intuition

Ever had that nagging feeling about something you so try to ignore but it just us there? You cannot explain it and your certainly do not know where it is coming from but you recognize what it is. That is what you call intuition.

Intuition is a usual tool that many of us ignores. Too often, we ignore our gut feel knowing in the end that there is some truth to it. I have not read of any scientific explanation about intuitions. I probably have not come across any. But I do believe it is helpful.

Just this year I formed this habit of always telling myself that something good is about to happen. It pays to stay positive about things for it makes us move forward to reaching our goals. I do feel that there is something good that is going to happen. It is that gut feel that makes me do things and in the end I am able to acheive what I have set myself to do. It is also that intution that tells me when to give up on something that is not working anymore.

Intuitions are good.

Together with a positive mind. :)

Start of Something New

I bet the first thing that came in your mind was Highschool Musical hehehe!:) But lately it is what my life is slowly being defined. There is something new starting and it will take shape in the coming months ahead.

I am looking forward to it. I have in fact made a separate blog for it. It is exciting.

I guess in the past year I was blessed with a lot of things. Even the challenged in graduate school is a blessing for me. Being given a second chance in completing a higher degree is something I would keep positive about no matter what kind of trial it may present. I have learned from my past. Negativity harbors nothing but ill-fate.

Second semester is about to begin. I am yet once again facing challenges and road blocks at the start of my journey but I am keeping faith I will finish this. I am going to take one step at a time for everything. Life was never easy in the first place.

I always felt good things are bound to happen. Even if I am fearful and in doubt of what I do not know and what the future will hold, I am keeping positive of the good things that will unfold. There is no other way.

A positive heart keeps your engines running and your heart burning.

Day 26: Dream Come True (A Photo of Somewhere You Have Been Too)

Church of the Angry Christ
It was a dream come true.

Last June my attorney/bf and I went to Bacolod. If there is one place in this country that I would really love to visit, Bacolod had my heart. From the time I saw this in a Lonely Planet episode on the Discovery Channel, I have been possesed with the thought of actually seeing it in person. And yes I did.

The mural of the Angry Christ for me symbolizes that the Lord is just human afterall. That He can be angry. That He is real. My discovery of this mural came at the time I was questioning my faith and my religion. I have strengthen my faith with the Lord now. Religion-wise, I pray wherever and whenever.

I love to go back and see the mural again. Will probably bring my kids here too.

Bacolod is my happy place!:)

Day 23, 24 & 25: Excuse Me For Yet Again Being Too Lazy

Yeah... yeah... I KNOW! It supposed to be per day but I got sick and yes, LAZY so I am bunching them all up in one go hehehe!:)

Day 23: 15 Facts About Me

1. I do not eat beef.
~No, I do not belong to a certain religion that does not eat beef. No, I do not miss out on something I do not like the taste and yes, thank you for your concern but I absolutely abhor beef.
2. I am a cat person.
3. I hate doing self-portraits because I end up being so awkward in them. If I do, I only let my boyfriend see it.
4. I love the color green.
5. I eat bananas with patis hehehe!
6. I have an obsession with the sun as my symbol.
7. I love rock music but I am not a purist. I listen to some good RnB if I come across one.
8. I do not like the fishy taste in food so my list of not-to-eat-food includes salmon.
9. I have an adventurous spirit.
10. My passion is writing. Next to eating and politics.
11. I once made my playmate's head bleed by accident. I thought he did not knew it was me but he did!:P
12. I had only one boyfriend and hopefully it makes a transistion to a husband.
13. I get irritated when someone plays with their nose in front of me.
14. I absolutely love my family.
15. I am JOHNNY DEPP'S secret lover. Okay I just wished I was hahaha!

Day 24: Photo of Something That Mean A Lot To You

She's my hero!

She means a lot to me.
She is my lola.

She is now in that big ballroom in the sky and one day we will see each other again. I miss her everyday. I really do. Half of who I am today is because of her and what she did for me and my brother.

I love you Lola!:)

Day 25: What's In My Pursue?

The typical umbrella for sudden rain, sun and reading glasses, kikay kit, tissue, notebook, cellphone, wallet and my Angel Gabriel.

Boring hehehe!

Day 22: It's For The Best (Letter to Someone Who Have Hurt You Recently)

*I really do not have a person who had hurt me recently. I probably came to a point that I only knew who are the people I am giving the privilege to hurt me. When I say it like this, what I meant was only a few people matters to me that has the capability of both loving me and hurting me. This letter is dedicated to someone whom I lost a friendship with. I rather focus on the good things that happened.

Dear You,

I think what happened to us was for the best.

The friendship that we share was not meant to last I guess. I know we had hurt each other and you probably think I gave up on the friendship. The thing is, you never really admited to yourself that maybe you contributed to it too. You do not look at yourself and the contribution you made why this is happening. I am sorry if I cannot be your mom who would always understand you and tell you that you did nothing wrong when in fact you have. It always takes two to tango in a relationship. And we are dancing on a different tune I guess. I would love to fix our friendship but I know your heart is not willing. The problem with me is I cannot stick to what you always want.

But at the end of the day, no matter how much we had hurt each other, I hope you find it in your heart to relieve the good times we had as friends. We had a few wonderful memories we shared. Soon enough I will be marrying the man you helped me figure out was the best for me. I would love for you to be my maid-of-honor but I guess it is not meant to be.

Good bye my former friend. I know the hurt will subside in time. I wish all the luck in this world and I always have our memories in me.

Regards,

Me

Day 14: Modern Family and The Good Wife (TV Programs You Are Currently Addicted To)

I am only addicted to one channel. That is NICKOLODEON. Yes, I am twenteen-seven and I still watch cartoons. It is actually my sleeping pill. I cannot sleep without watching an episode of Fairly Odd Parents, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Real Monsters, etc. Cartoons need not occupy much of your brain space. Last thing I really want at the day's end is some TV junk and not some depressing news or run-off-the-mill drama.

But these past few weeks I have been wanting to catch the episodes of Modern Family and The Good Wife. The Good Wife I catched while I was channel surfing. It surprised me and I need to buy myself some new DVD player so I can watch it on DVD. Modern Family tickles my funny bone because Al of Married with Children is in it. Who does not love Al???!!!

Problem is, I think both occupies the same time slot and the same day. I have not gotten around googling its schedule for re-runs but I will get to it once semestral break starts.

Right now I need to get some "Ilumina" and "Grazilda" fix. Yeah I am Kapuso. :)

Day 12: CARMONA is in Cavite not Laguna (Photo of the town you live in)

*photos would be uploaded shortly

CARMONA is in Cavite not in Laguna.

Typical conversation with a someone I just met:

Stranger: "So where you from?"
Me: "I am from a town in Cavite called CARMONA. You know, that town where you exit from SLEX going to Tagaytay or Laguna."
Stranger: "Oh yeah I know that, it's that town in Laguna."
Me: "No, Carmona is the first town to Cavite coming from SLEX. The one your saying is Binan."
Stranger: "Yeah so it's in Laguna right?"
Me: "Haaaayyyyyyy! Repeat after me: Carmona is in CAVITE. C-A-V-I-T-E!"

Only a true blooded Carmonaian will know where it is.

It is the gateway to Cavite from SLEX. We are not really that famous except the San Lazaro Horse Racing Club was re-located here. Almost half of the Filipino population will insist that Carmona is in Laguna and as a Carmonian, you have probably gotten so frustrated about this.

Carmona is home to me.

I used to dream I would not spend my old age here but now I cannot think of a better place to raise my future family. It is not a suburb but also not a backward municipality. Without traffic, it would take less than an hour for me to reach Makati, my place of work. After breathing smog the whole day, it is nice to go home and savor some fresh air while gazing at the stars and savoring a laid-back life. Carmona gives me balance.

We are improving though. Now we have a town fiesta that people can see being featured on national TV.

Hopefully, this will lead to less confusion as to our location in the future.

Day 11: What make-up? (What's in Your Make-Up Kit)

Hmmmm let me see? I use a pink make-up pencil case like bag for my "make-up" kit (hey, it's a gift from my boss).

Inside it is my old hair un-tangler, mirror, face powder (which I rarely use), eyebrow kit, lip balm and lipstick. I am big on both my brows and my lips hence the eyebrow kit and lip balm/stick are the only two make-up necessity I would need.

I can live without them actually, oily face and all. But of course sometimes you have to look presentable.:)

The end.

Day 7: Here Comes the Bride, All Dress in... GREEN (Ideal Wedding)

Here comes my "favorite" entry. :)

At the right timing because the attorney/bf and I are on our way to preparing for it. We have a target date and the numbers of months are getting lesser and lesser as days go by. Hopefully we can achieve first the amount of money we project to have.

Having said that, my ideal wedding would be very simple with only a minimum of 70 to a maximum of 100 guests mostly immediate family members and our closest friends. I will put most of our money on two things: the reception and photography. People who attend weddings only remember the food they ate, so I want our guests to enjoy the best our money can afford. Also, I want to capture every moment with a very good photographer and videographer for memory as possibly as it can be. Everything else I can scrimp at, including my wedding gown, which really I will only wear once and I am not sure my future daughter would want to use.

But above everything else, I would just like to see the attorney/bf at the end of the aisle, all smiles and us looking at each others eyes as we near that very moment we can be together in this lifetime. Without a care in the world and only our love floating in the air.

Of course wearing a green wedding gown would, for me, spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Day 5: All Over Again (Photo of Yourself from Two Years Ago)

Cool tricycle in Davao:)

The photo was taken on my first business trip at my first job from two years ago. Having ended my dream of becoming a lawyer, I was blessed to have found a job right away in an industry that I want to develop a career at. It is just a starting job but nevertheless I have gained a lot from it.

Now I know how to work (it is indeed tough to adjust how to work from just being a student), inching my way to an officer position and trying my luck at graduate school. Much has happened both in my personal life as well as my career.

It is still a long shot from what I would like to do for my career but I am keeping faith and an open mind. In the end everything will pan out. You just need to do your part in trying to achieve things. :)

Day 4: Chubby Fingers (Favorite Photo of Your Bestfriend)

Look at those chubby fingers hahaha!:)

*Apologies for the awkward laugh hahaha! This was a stolen shot. :P

This was taken last year in Tagaytay when one of our high school barkada came over for a visit from the US. It is a recent favorite since it looked liked the lady and I were laughing at some thing only we know about. The lady in black with the chubby fingers is my bestfriend of 26 years. Yes that long, although we became extremely close only in grade 5. We have known each other since we were one year olds hahaha!:) It was only recently that we found out I attended her first birthday party and we have a picture showing it. It was supposed to be my favorite picture of her but we have to rummage through photo albums and scan it. I am tech-lazy I must admit.

We like to think that we are soul sisters. She is my sister from another mother. We have seen each other grow through all the teenage angst, quater-life crisis and love problems and we are looking forward to growing old and wrinkly. We used to dream of going to Jamaica together before we get married to our partners (she was the first to go) but it has to be shelved for now.

Maybe who knows, we might do a Thelma-and-Louise kind of thing (minus the killing and dying part) and go on a great adventure to Jamaica, wrinkle and all.

Doubt and Fear

If orange and chocolate goes well together or cookies and cream are a match made in heaven, then doubt and fear are two emotions that blend so well, in a not so good way.

A few days ago, I read a message that says fear comes out from doubt. And if we are to be fearless, we should not entertain any doubtful thoughts. I agreed with the message I read. It makes perfect sense. When we doubt, fear develops in our heart. When we fear something, we do not want to know what it is or what it is not.

I have my shares of doubtful thoughts. Most of it sprung up from things that are not certain. I have experienced before that doubt develops fear, which prohibits us to be the best we can be. It prohibits us to discover new things, do old practices that suddenly we are not familiar with and give our greatest effort in doing something that we are currently involve. All because we doubt that we would not make it or we are not capable of doing it. Doubt brings fear that freezes our hearts at a place we are neither growing nor developing in the awesome person that we can be.

In the food world, pairings are said to be done to enhance the flavors of each food item with the other. It brings out the best flavors for both. If this would be likened to emotions, then doubt and fear does not go well together.

Not one bit at all.

Day 3: Make Me Laugh (Ideal Perfect First Date)

I absolutely do not like going to getting-to-know-each-other dates.

Usually I befriend guys I like, so I have never gotten around to a first formal date. I have only been to one and I swear it was such a disaster that I never will go over it again. That and of course the attorney/bf. I feel that first dates are more of impressing each other, which turns me off. I like to keep things as real as possible.

But of course I have to blog about my "ideal perfect first date" and mine would be corny. It would be the usual dinner-then-coffee kind of thing. It is the best environment for two people to talk about anything under the sun, preferably at some artsy restaurant or coffee shop. I like to start knowing someone through a good conversation.  It is my absolute non-negotiable since we are at impressing each other anyway. Somewhere along the conversation if you can make me laugh, I will consider a next date with you granted you want it again.

Then again if you like less words you can always bring me to a theme park but on one condition. You have to take all the extreme rides with me.

Glad I am over this kind of dating. ;)

Day 2: Pssssst (Photo of Something You Ate Today)

Pusit and Munggo for Breakfast
I am trying to recall that joke about pusit becoming pssstttt but I fail at it hahaha!:) Better consult the attorney/bf about it because for sure I heard it from him.;)

This was my breakfast along with some choco-fee (Milo + coffee=choco-fee) before going to school. I have a long day ahead of me and I hope we can settle our class presentation on Tuesday. What better way to start the ball rolling by having some protein and fiber hahaha! I do not believe anyway that certain foods should be eaten only at certain times of the day and besides I had spaghetti last night instead of munggo for my early dinner, which was also served this morning.

Aaaaahhhhhhh dried pusit heads!:) I think I am one of the few who loves the squid's head more than its body. It is chewy, tentacle-ly (trying :P) and oh-so-yummy. Having it in dried makes it more awesome!

How about you? What's your breakfast?

Have a great day!:)

Day 1: Liberated (Photo of Myself and How My Day Went)

My day is not yet ending since I still need to study because finals is just around the corner. But I promised myself I would do the 30-day blog challenge come October and today is October 01, so I am starting it. :) It is something I would really want to keep up with and I am determined to make it happen.

First things first, a shout out goes to my Lola Mama and our dear house help Ate Baby for their birthdays today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:)

Here are several photos of me. These are the rare times you would probably see me in self-portraits hahaha! I'll let you know why in the upcoming post on things about me.;)

Me thinks how to upload photos hahaha!
*I am such a newbie it took me almost two hours to upload photos hahaha!

Today was liberating.

Took a leave from work to do some errands related to school. It is a rainy day and it was the best time to go to three and I say that again THREE different schools to get my errands done.

Good thing I am armed with wet wipes, tissue, bimpo and umbrella.

I went first to my school in QC to get some requirements done and ask what the heck is the problem with my transcript, so I can apply for my on-line account. They advised me to go to my college alma mater and of I went to Leon Guinto to inquire why the transcript I secured from them was not acceptable. I was praying it would be simple as getting a new transcript.

Took a picture of the picture I took in my college alma mater w/ my phone that doesn't have a usb connector hahaha!
But NO... I skipped the part where I took up almost 3 1/2 years of law school in "Spain". You see, I tried being a lawyer but circumstances caused a big change of heart and I have to shift my career path (I will leave it to that for now).

I left law school without any intention of going back.

Turns out that my original transcript of records from my college alma mater were transferred to my law school and in order for me to get what I needed, I have to go there and request for a transfer of credentials certificate. The copy that I secured from my college alma matter is only my personal copy. It was indeed original but I cannot use it for purposes of taking up graduate studies.

Going to my law school after three years since we gave up on each other felt so liberating. The last time I was there, I was feeling the lost of that dream of mine and I have no intentions of going back. I described it to my attorney/bf that I felt like seeing an EX for the first time after a very painful break up and having the closure I needed to finish moving on. It is true what they say about moving on. When you see each other and you do not feel bad about what happened, you know you have let go.

In retrospect, I do not regret going through law school. It was the time in my life where I was adjusting to so many things and I acknowledge the fact that I made a hastily decision on it. In the end what I am doing right now is what I really pictured myself to be. I am pursuing something that felt right even if it meant I start at the bottom all over again.

Life is about trying things out and moving on if something fails for it opens up new opportunities that eventually leads to who we are meant to be in this world.:)

I like the things they suggested I write about per day. Of course you will still get to read stuffs on my mind in this blog but to deviate you from my sometimes why-so-serious topics, this 30-day blog challenge wil help you with that. I hope I can keep up with it. That would be one of the three good things that I will write about in the end. :)

October 01, here I come!
